Introducing LaSalle, ON

This beautiful town is between Windsor and Amherstburg with a healthy farming community, waterfront opportunities, and protected nature areas.  LaSalle was named after the French explorers who settled in the area in the 1700s. In 1991, LaSalle was officially named a Town; and, became one of the larger communities of Essex County with a population of just over 30,000.

This growing community has something for everyone! Here are a few suggestions of some great places to visit:

Family Fun

Strawberry Festival features shop vendors, good food including locally picked strawberries on top of vanilla ice cream, fun rides for all ages and live bands and events that happen throughout the weekend-long festival.

LaSalle Bowling has 6 lanes, some bowling leagues and is a great opportunity to meet new people.

Essex County Library The Essex County Library is a system of 14 library branches that provide quality materials and services, free of charge, to all residents of Essex County. The LaSalle Branch of the Essex County Library is located inside the LaSalle Civic Centre.

Vollmer Complex is a great place to come enjoy what the Town of LaSalle can offer. With skating rinks, swimming pools, soccer fields,Skate Park, splash pad, and so much more on the grounds of the center, families are bound to find something to do! There is also a gym and fitness programs to take advantage of. The Vollmer has summer camps for kids when school is over and planned recreational activities.

LaSalle Hangout for Youth is a non-profit organization that provides a safe and supportive facility with after-school programs and activities for youth 12-18 years old at no cost for the families. They provide free meals, homework help, resume building and counseling.

Windsor Crossing Premium Outlets is the only open-concept hybrid-outlet mall open 363 days per year in all of Southwestern Ontario, featuring both full and off-price retailers.

Food and Drinks

Joe Schmoe’s Eats N Drinks with an open dining room and take-out, with the goal of making the very best burgers, wings, sandwiches, & salads we could with fresh quality ingredients.

The Parlour Ice Cream Co. is located in the heart of LaSalle. They have coffee, cakes, ice cream and a beautiful open space to socialize in.

Parks and Trails

Dog Park is located behind the Vollmer Complex. It is a safe fenced in area that allows owners to exercise their dogs off-leash. It is sectioned off into areas for dogs under 25 pounds and large dogs. There is also a water station for the warmer months.

Gil Maure Park sits along the waterfront with a beautiful fountain, flower garden and boat ramp. Experience nature and the waterscapes, have lunch under the pavilion, bring the kids to the nearby playground

Vince Marcotte Park overlooks Turkey creek and is surrounded by nature paths, has racket courts, and a playground.
