A Feast of Festivals; Windsor Essex has a Festival for Everyone

June is just around the corner – and so are all of Essex County’s amazing festivals. There are almost 20 festivals running this summer across the county! You’re bound to find one that will peel you away from the pool. We’ve laid out five of the most unique and anticipated summer festivals, so get your festival chairs and sunscreen ready!

The Lasalle Strawberry Festival  -  A local favourite! This year the Strawberry Fest runs from June 8th – 11th, 2023 and will feature the Flying Fools High Dive Show, a firework show Friday night and a wide variety of food vendors. The Strawberry Fest is perfect for families and foodies, but there really is something for everyone!

Windsor Rib and Craft Beer Festival  -  Windsor’s Rib Fest is back – it will feature Ontario craft beer, a huge number of barbecue vendors and other delicious bites. This is a great event to corral a group of friends for; let them know to leave room for tasty eats and great music June 2nd – June 4th, 2023.

Kingsville Highland Games  -  Held at Jack Minor Bird Sanctuary, this festival will immerse you in Scottish culture with authentic food, music, dancing and heavy events. Essex County’s Scottish heritage is deep-rooted and obvious in street names like Talbot, Elgin, and McDougal. So, get your kilt and get ready to embrace our Scottish history at the Kingsville Highland Games on June 24th, 2023.

Art in The Park  -  This is one of the best attended outdoor arts and crafts show in Ontario – you know this if you’ve ever tried to find parking at Art in The Park. Avoid the frustration and use one of the festivals two free shuttles to visit historic Willistead Park on June 3rd and 4th. Explore dozens of vendors’ unique works and stop by the food court if you need a pick-me-up – it features high-end local restaurants and drink options.

Woofa-Roo  -  Calling all animal lovers! This unique festival features local vendors, a dock diving competition for dogs and an agility course. Even if you don’t have a dog, it’s a fun way to spend the weekend, and there are unlimited pups to pet. Don’t miss this pet and person-friendly event on June 24th and 25th, 2023
