It's no question the Province of Ontario is a beautiful place to live. Being the second largest province in Canada, Ontario houses more than 250,000 lakes and over 50 thousand farms - which means it contains one-fifth of the fresh water in the entire world and one-quarter of all farm revenue in Canada.

With Niagara Falls being one of North America's most popular tourist attractions, as well as an absolute wonder to experience, it makes sense why the Iroquois named our province 'Ontario' - which means 'Beautiful Water.'

It's easy to think the only way to experience paradise is to travel to different countries, but what about the amazing pieces of Heaven that are right here? Here are just some of Ontario's beautiful destinations worth visiting:

Webster Falls, Hamilton - overlook Dundas Valley and give an amazing display to all who visit. You can also experience surrounding trails for different perspectives of the 22-meter drop. It's one of the most iconic waterfalls in Ontario and is stunning in the Fall.

Cheltenham Badlands, Caledon - This boardwalk hike showcases a landmark that formed over 450 million years ago on what was once a seabed. Reservations are required for this view, and it is closed during certain seasons.

Georgian Bay Grotto, Bruce Peninsula - This cave formation, called "One of Mother Nature’s crown jewels," is carved from ancient limestone and holds a beautiful turquoise pool of water. The 45-minute hike to this destination brings you the best rewards to appease all your senses. The best time to visit is during the months of July and August, but explorers recommend visiting during spring and fall.

1000 Islands, Gananoque - Found along the St. Lawrence River, the islands offer new water-loving activities to do every day, such as fishing, sailing, cycling and scuba diving. The 1000 Islands Boldt Castle Stopover Cruise is a must-see, with the opportunity to explore a romantic castle from May 21 until the week of September 18, every year.

Bonnechere Caves, Eganville - Guided tours take you deep into the limestone caves where you can spot fossils dating back millions of years. It has been a tourist destination for over 55 years and is completely safe, educational, and fun for all ages. This destination is only open during certain seasons.

Killarney Provincial Park, Killarney - is located on Georgian Bay and is made up of wetlands, forests, and mountains. It is easily one of Ontario's best-kept secrets. Wait until you see the Glacier-sculpted pink granite cliffs that frame the coastline.

Muskoka Region - With about 1,600 lakes, and impressive forests, Muskoka is the best place to visit especially in Autumn. It is considered top-tier cottage country, perfect for unwinding and enjoying the serene calm all around you.

Algonquin Park, Nipissing - Spanning over 7,000 square kilometers, Algonquin Park is best known as a hearty camping destination with great hiking and canoeing opportunities, as well as natural-life sightseeing.

Ouimet Canyon, Doiron - Not for the faint of heart, this 150-meter-wide gorge is lined with gorgeous trees and cliffs. If that wasn't enough to get your blood pumping, maybe the sight of a 100-meter drop to the bottom of this amazing canyon might do it! Gorgeous year-round, this park is well worth the visit.

The Sleeping Giant, Thunder Bay - Is every photographer and bird watcher’s dream! Animals like deer, foxes, lynx, and over 200 species of birds take refuge here. This legendary island is also known for having the best skiing trails in the province. The top of the Giant stands at 950 feet above Lake Superior making it an incredible, and difficult hiking experience for anyone looking for their next challenge. Ask locals how this island got its name!
